The Lonely Planet Guide skillfully fills in this information void, providing lots of useful tourist information and tips interspersed with perspectives on history/culture and some light humor. Although the book may at times appear too forgiving to a highly discerning Western tourist, the authors deserve high praise for their upbeat, the "glass-is-half-full"/"diamond in the rough" tone uncovering a region that has undeservedly received little positive coverage from the mass media."
